derek lam’s jet-set grooming ritual

August 20, 2008  11:08 am

Conforming your beauty regimen to FAA regulations has become as essential a part of flying as remembering your passport and that prescription of Xanax. But while you might have to sacrifice all products over 3.0 fluid ounces to make it through security, there’s no reason why the same should apply to your personal style. In a nod to the jet-set life, Derek Lam has partnered with Kiehl’s Since 1851 to create a limited-edition travel kit that does not include quart-size Ziploc bags, thank you very much. Available for presale online and at the New York flagship store beginning last week, the waterproof, brushed vinyl accessory includes travel sizes of Kiehl’s bestsellers like Creme de Corps, Creme de Corps Nurturing Body Washing Cream, Amino Acid Shampoo, and Conditioner and Grooming Aid Formula 133. For a personal touch, Lam requested that a little custom pocket be built inside the kit to house his favorite Kiehl’s product, Lip Balm #1—because there’s nothing glamorous about walking off the tarmac a chapped mess.
