Arlenis Sosa Builds Brand Loyalty

With the ink barely dry on her new contract with Lancôme, Dominican modeling phenom Arlenis Sosa continues to rack up acclaim. Only in the biz since April, the 19-year-old made her grand entrée into the editorial world as one of the lucky few catwalkers cast for Italian Vogue’s historic all-black issue and can already count Anna Wintour and makeup artist Pat McGrath as fans. Yesterday, she officially added muse to her growing list of attributes, opening and closing the Oscar de la Renta show. Backstage, where she was something of a celebrity in a room full of top models, we had a chance to catch up with the beauty about her whirlwind ride on the fame train. Despite a bit of a language barrier, a few things were clear: 1. She feels “very lucky to have these experiences”; 2. being on set of the Italian Vogue shoot with Iman, Naomi, and Liya was “like, wow!” and 3. she actually likes Lancôme products, in addition to serving as its new spokesperson: “I really love definition mascara,” she said (we assume she was talking about Definicils), “and Aqua Fusion moisture,” which she excitedly produced from her bag.

  2. CAN YOU PLEASE PUT THE CORRECT BLACK MODEL IN THIS STORY. ITS BAD ENOUGH, THERE ARE NNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER ENOUGH BLACK MODELS ON THE RUNWAYS. BUT WE HAVE A 3rd RUNWAY STAR (CHANEL IMAN & JORDAN) CAN YOU PLEASE PUT THE CORRECT PICTURE OF ARLENIS. ITS NOT ONLY THE FASHION SHOW PRODUCERS, BUT ALSO THE EDITORS !!!!!!!
