Some cystic acne never comes to a head, so where does the blemish go?
The inflammation is eventually reabsorbed from within the skin by macrophages, a process that can take three to four weeks. Really deep pimples sometimes never go away, though, and need to be cut out. The best thing to do if it’s bothering you is to go to the dermatologist because draining large, deep cysts is very important.
