Pinks and Purples at Posen

Compared to the star-studded front row at Zac Posen’s show last week, the scene backstage was almost civilized. That is, except for the typical chaos you get from countless film crews, editors, hair and makeup teams, half-clothed models and the awkwardly placed, albeit familiar hangers-on holding it down by the catering. Without the celebrity madness, it was a bit easier to focus on the fine details, which meant a pastel beauty palette in varying shades of girly, based around makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury’s metallic pink and purple lip-color choices. Nail guru (and part-time lounge singer) Deborah Lippmann was charged with transferring the same look to fingertips, but when she began describing her polishes, she seemed to be holding back, hesitant to reveal some bit of information about the metallic purple lacquer she was holding in her hand. After her publicist gave the nod, Lippmann revealed that she’d whipped up the bottle for the show only days earlier and that it was in fact being considered for inclusion in her upcoming color collection. Well, as of earlier this week, the purple of Posen fame has been confirmed for mass production and is being called “Who’s your Daddy?” That’s a tentative title, though, so suggestions are apparently being entertained. Anyone?
