The Perks (And Pitfalls) Of The Beauty Biz

September 16, 2008  12:01 pm

Sure, there’s the free products and the insider tips that come along with working in the industry (that’s navy blue liner this beauty editor is wearing, not your standard old black—”it makes your eyes look whiter,” she informed us). But when cosmetics companies discontinue products, even the privileged suffer. “I have to cherish every application,” the editor exclaimed of her L’Oréal Colour Riche limited-edition lipstick in Target Red, which is sadly no longer available. It’s a real shame, too—she certainly wears it well.

Whether tongue-in-cheek or not, please don’t try to make your little inconveniences sound like real problems.
