At YSL, A Beauty Pageant For Artsy Types
October 15, 2008 10:37 am

Looking beyond its core clientele of Upper East Siders and those who possess that coveted brand of Eurofied chic, YSL Beauté has teamed up with social media advertising network Brickfish to offer a special contest to its left-brained lipstick loyalists. Until October 23, the brand will be accepting submissions for pieces of original art motivated by the company’s new YSL Rouge Volupté lipstick—a makeup muse that was designed to evoke sensuality. Entrants are encouraged to use the original ad starring Kate Moss (pictured at left) for inspiration but should feel free to explore mediums from painting and sculpture to Art Deco, modern, and graphic art. All submissions will be judged by an expert panel from YSL Beauté and the grand prizewinner and runner-up will each receive a two-night weekend getaway to New York—plus a makeup consultation with a YSL artist that is sure to provide inspiration for future projects (self portraits in abstract expressionism, anyone?).
