paris fashion week: get out those curling irons, ringlets are back

Are we looking at the renaissance of the perm? Could be. Both on and off the catwalk, eighties frizz is making a comeback—and nowhere was this drummed home more steadily than at Jasmine Di Milo’s show on Thursday, where masses of ginger curls were the order of the day. “Nicole Kidman, eat your heart out!” cheered hairstylist Lyndell Mansfield after the label’s presentation at the Ritz today. “I’m obsessed with The Witches of Eastwick. Michelle Pfeiffer, Susan Sarandon, and Cher—three women, really beautiful, really powerful, and they just look hot! And the clothes are really narrow so it looks even better with this big hair. Undone, raw, and purely sexy.” Just how this will translate further will be interesting to see. Mansfield claims that in the salon, the veer toward curls is picking up momentum. Judging by the number of paps who snapped two twin sisters with strawberry blond ringlets at the show, we may be looking at a full-on trend in the making.
