Behind The Tear Sheet

Scarlett, in Fuchsia

October 17, 2008  2:05 pm

Whether or not you think Scarlett Johansson can act (maybe it’s just us, but there were more than a few tenuous—read: agonizing—moments of ScarJo dialogue in Vicky Cristina Barcelona), the fact that she’s one of Hollywood’s most beautiful leading ladies is indisputable. At this point, seeing those pouty lips and perfect skin on magazine covers is nothing new, but her Autumn/Winter Another magazine cover was so striking, it snapped us right out of our indifference—we shelled out $20 for the massive biannual just to get a makeup credit. And there it was: Lucia Pieroni for Clé de Peau Beauté.”Scarlett has a great mouth that’s perfect for a strong red lip, but I wanted to do something different than a classic red. I decided on a raspberry -colored lip stain, which complemented the kimono she was wearing,” Pieroni explained of the piercing shade of fuchsia, which is actually a combination of colors and textures (magenta and quartz lip pencils topped with Clé de Peau Beauté Extra Silky Lipstick in #115, to be exact). “It’s a more contemporary way of wearing a strong lip color, because it’s slightly blended at the outer edges to give a softer feel.” Scarlett’s darkened brow and ridiculously clear complexion don’t hurt matters, either. We’ll likely continue tolerating her screen presence, if only to gush over for a few more covers like this.
