Michelle Williams Does It Again
October 16, 2008 12:02 pm

Even though the “Synechdoche, New York” screening held by The Cinema Society last night was red carpet-less, the film’s stars turned out in full force—and in full hair and makeup. Michelle Williams went for “soft, but strong” to echo her ivory ruched silk dress and chunky ankle-boot ensemble, according to Chanel celebrity makeup artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua. (Bonus FYI: Yoshimoto Bua engineered the now legendary red-lip Williams wore with Vera Wang’s epic canary-yellow dress at the 2006 Oscars.) To add a touch of tough to Williams’ angelic face, Yoshimoto Bua kept the color palette on the earthy side, using Chanel Blush Duo Tweed Effect in Tweed Ambre on her cheekbones and a mauve-y rose lip color, courtesy of Chanel Glossimer in Wild Rose (which is sadly not available until January). The new look is way up there with those Chloé dress/pixie-cut pictures that surfaced last year on our “why we sweat Michelle Williams’ sweet, sweet style” list. We’re taking suggestions for items to add to our master file starting…now.
