The New Celebrity (Hair) Haunt

November 4, 2008  11:44 am

A collaboration that’s been 12 years in the making, celebrity favorites and stylists extraordinaire Andy LeCompte and Leanne Citrone’s the Andy LeCompte Salon was destined for West Hollywood greatness even before it officially opened its doors in August. (LeCompte’s devoted fans already include Penélope Cruz, Salma Hayek, Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, Jennifer Connelly, and Madonna.) Featuring what will ultimately be 16 cut and color stations for everything from highlights to chemical straightening, with a makeup artist on call to complete the beautifying experience, the duo’s joint venture also doubles as a pseudo gallery space, in which choice paintings by artists ranging from Andy Warhol and Marilyn Minter to local favorites like Paul Rusconi and Alison Van Pelt line the white industrial walls. “It really adds something to the space,” says Citrone, who is the self-proclaimed “doer” in the partnership between herself and the more jet-set LeCompte. “I’m married with two kids. Andy’s…not,” she continues, adding that the superstar stylist is actually on site this week, but only for a few days, while Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet tour comes through L.A. (he’s been traveling with the singer since the tour kicked off at the end of the summer). “We’re good at completely different things, but between the two of us we make one great person,” Citrone jokes—one great person who will likely be seeing a whole lot more Madge when the newly single Kabbalist returns to the States, post-divorce settlement et al. (Paparazzi, consider yourselves in the know.)

The Andy LeCompte Salon, 616 N. Almont Dr., L.A. For more information or to book an appointment, call (310) 273-4100.
