An Edgier Pink Hits Counters For Spring

As the new Spring collections roll out into stores this month and next, Estée Lauder appears to be one of the first brands to embark on a total embrace of the fuchsia movement that was so prevalent on the runway. Going so far as to name its new color collection Fuchsia Now, the company has combined the bright pink hue popular at Hussein Chalayan with some of the season’s more reliable muted neutrals, for color that actually works with most skin tones. The line includes a limited-edition Fleur de Lys Shimmer Powder that contrasts warm honey and peach shades with vibrant pinks, a limited-edition Silky Eyeshadow Duo in Indigo (which also boasts fleur-de-lis imprints), Hydra Lustre Lipstick in Rich Berry, Pure Color Gloss in Fresh Berry, and a Pure Color Nail Lacquer in Fuchsia. The lip colors are a bit sheerer than the opaque version seen on the catwalk, but we’re guessing this was intentional; creating products to keep traditional beauty junkies conservatively on trend is a feat in and of itself.
