Bunnies Or Body Lotion: You Make The Call

January 5, 2009  3:10 pm

The Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC) is helping you go even greener this year by challenging humane beauty fiends worldwide to pledge their allegiance to the Leaping Bunny Program. An initiative that began in 1996 in order to create a standard, and subsequent symbol, for cruelty-free cosmetics and personal care products, the leaping bunny logo makes it easy to identify the beauty companies that are really living up to their eco-conscious claims—and those that are not. With more than 200 brands already listed in its approved shopping guide, the Coalition is banking on the fact that increased consumer awareness will convince other companies to stop testing on animals as well. Click here to sign your name and pledge to keep your beauty regimen cruelty-free in 2009.
