How often do I really need to be getting facials?
This is a personal question, but the general rule is every month, about as often as your skin cells regenerate. For those with really healthy complexions, sometimes I say have a facial with the change in seasons, but I find that most people benefit from a facial every four to six weeks, especially as we get older and our skin needs more TLC. If your skin is really active and your pores tend to congest easily, maybe every three weeks, but those are special cases.
The creator and director of her own medi-skin clinic in Los Angeles, Kate Somerville has spent over 15 years working with top dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons to promote the integration of skincare and medicine, helping to pioneer the field of paramedical aesthetics and lay the foundation for the medi-spa industry. A best-selling eponymous product line and cult celebrity following keep her one of the most trusted names in skincare today.
