Kate Winslet Takes Home Another

At last night’s SAG Awards, Kate Winslet came out victorious yet again for her role in The Reader, taking home the Best Supporting Actress statuette. She was a winner in another category as well, managing to garner the coveted Beauty Counter Seal of Approval for a flawless display of hair and makeup. This time around, celebrity makeup artist Jillian Dempsey played with shimmering nudes for a natural, season-appropriate look that played minimalist to Winslet’s vibrant cobalt blue Narciso Rodriguez gown. Using Lancôme Artliner in Noir on her upper lash line, Dempsey lightly dusted Winslet’s lids with the lightest shade of her Jillian Dempsey Professional for Avon Eyeshadow Trio in Pebble Wash. After finishing the eyes with a few coats of Lancôme Ôscillation Mascara in Black, Dempsey lined Winslet’s lips with a nude liner from Serge Lutens, filling in the entire lip and applying Lancôme Color Fever Gloss in Engaging—a sheer, sparkling Champagne—on top for shine. Frédéric Fekkai stylist Renato Campora championed Winslet’s low bun and side-swept bangs using Fekkai More All Day Density Mousse on wet hair to add volume. Once her hair was dry, he slightly teased the top to create a touch of height before pulling it back into a low ponytail, loosely braiding it, and finally twisting it to form a bun. Two for two with the Golden Globes and the SAG Awards behind us, we expect big things from the actress at the Oscars next month—on the awards podium and on the red carpet.
