In what’s perhaps one of L’Oréal’s lesser-known traditions, the French company likes to honor Hollywood’s most talented women during awards season with mirrored compacts embedded with gemstones. This year being no exception, a citrine and green quartz case set in 18K yellow gold with diamond details will grace the goody bags of the ten actresses nominated in the Drama and Musical/Comedy categories at the Golden Globes on Sunday night. Named, “Harmony,” the bejeweled box designed by Carelle, is intended to evoke a calming, balanced aura derived from the optimism, positive energy, and enhanced creativity associated with citrine stones. We’d call it a legitimate reason to utter, “It’s an honor just to be nominated.” Following the show, from January 11 through January 18, one limited-edition compact, valued at $1,850, will be auctioned on eBay. The starting bid is $500 and all proceeds will go to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF).
