A New Beauty Guru Is Born

February 3, 2009  12:22 pm

When Smashbox Cosmetics partnered with Sephora last summer to find “the next beauty guru,” they were looking for someone with personality plus, i.e., the innovation to create a best-selling beauty product that captures an entire runway look in a single compact. Seeing as how this is America, the land where reality TV has convinced just about everyone of their own superstar potential, the entries came pouring in—videos, homemade commercials, and online blogs showcasing ideas for the official Smashbox Fashion Week Makeup Palette. And the winner is…Andria Woods, a stay-at-home mother of two and aspiring accessories designer. Her prototype, created with Spring’s backstage color trends in mind, includes a blush/bronzer duo, shadow and liner quad, and lip color trio with high-shine topcoat—all packed into a convenient three-tiered design (with built-in mirror) and available starting this week exclusively at Sephora.
