M2M Makes Its Debut

Deliberately young casting at Philosophy last night prompted a very simple beauty look: Redken’s Guido Palau went with a super-straight side part tucked behind the ear, which he created using Redken’s Blown Away
heat-activated conditioning prep, while makeup artist Diane Kendal simulated the “fresh face” of youth by using only a toner, moisturizer, and light-coverage foundation, all from MAC. In a similar spirit, manicurist Roseann Singleton brought Myrdith Leon-McCormack and her new line of nail polishes, M2M, backstage with her. Made in partnership with Monica Promsavanh and Melky Jean (R&B artist and sister of Wyclef), M2M is a line within damoreJon, a new, natural nail care system. “It’s good for young people,” Singleton said. But with a 17-piece collection that includes neutrals, metallics, and bold shades, anyone with remotely good taste in lacquer will enjoy M2M’s offerings—be they 15 or 50. “Each shade is inspired by a celebrity I’ve worked with,” Leon-McCormack said as she displayed Show Off, the pale pink created in homage to Keisha Whitaker that Alberta Ferretti chose for the show. Our personal favorites include Let’s Talk, a perfect opaque nude for Tyra Banks; Night Byrd, a retina-burning fuchsia for Etta James; and a flat navy called Night Kat, which was used at the William Rast show earlier this week.
