Nonie Creme: “Reassess and Rediscover in 2009″

Serving up a mattified nude nail backstage at the Alexander Wang show last night, Butter London Creative Director Nonie Creme was touting the benefits of looking through your makeup bag and discovering all the different ways you can use what you already have. “It’s a really relevant beauty story for 2009,” Creme said, referencing the trying economic times. “This season it’s about seeing all the looks and thinking, ‘how can I recreate this at home with what I’ve got?” One trick she shared with us is using a base coat, like her Nail Foundation, as a top coat, to remove shine from your lacquer. “Matte nails are going to be huge this year,” she predicts. “It’s beautiful, but not overdone. It’s stark. It’s the new ‘clean!” Consider yourself in the know.
