Rachel Roy: A Copycat Case Or Just Coincidence?

February 13, 2009  3:31 pm

When we first spied the finished hair and makeup look backstage at the Rachel Roy show yesterday we experienced a bit of déjà vu. Black cropped wigs? Black lipstick? Is this Paris, February ‘08? Are we at the Yves Saint Laurent show? Yes, the looks are similar, but upon further inspection, we noticed a few differences. First of all, Roy threw a few brunette and blond bobs into the mix. And as for the makeup, that’s a glossy plum lip, not a matte black as we previously suspected, courtesy of makeup artist Bobbi Brown and her Blackberry Lip Color. So it wasn’t a direct imitation after all, although let’s be honest, the “inspiration” is undeniable.

  2. The YSL look is so much better with the matte pale skin.
