The Gray Lip, Part Quatre

February 19, 2009  1:52 pm

Not to state the obvious, but gray is here to stay for Fall 2009. We witnessed yet another
incarnation of the pallid lip color yesterday at Doo.Ri, where makeup artist Tom Pecheux used a very light application of MAC’s Lipmix in black to keep things from veering too far over to the dark side. He also let models’ natural lip color show through by mixing the pigment with only a tiny bit of Studio Finish Concealer for a matte finish, rather than blanking lips out completely before adding the color, as has been the preference of a few of his compatriots. And so, with New York fashion week winding down, we’d like to know your thoughts on the trend: Yea or nay, and where do you think it made its finest showing?

  1. It looks beautiful on the model but I’m not so sure I could pull it off.
