Base Tanning That’s Actually Good For Your Skin

Seeing as how it’s our job to know everything and anything beauty, we take a small bit of pride in being able to field questions from friends and relatives who are trying to fulfill specific needs. While lamenting the current state of our non-tan skin with an equally olive-complected friend over dinner this week, she mused at the prospect of a wonder product that could help her pastiness before beach season is in full swing. “You know, not like a self-tanner,” she explained, “but one of those oils that make you a little darker. And if it was natural, all the better.” Almost unconsciously, we did a mental scan through our inventory, i.e., the endless back stock of press releases and product launch info that we store in our brain, and, bam, a blinking lightbulb. “Josie Maran’s Bronzing Argan Oil,” we said between bites of burger (we’re back on red meat these days after a few-year hiatus). “A new, bronzed version of the classic complexion cure-all at the heart of Maran’s line of natural cosmetics, it gives you all the benefits of an après-sun dewy glow without UV exposure or chemicals.” All right, that’s not really verbatim, but it’s all true. (Our conversation skills aren’t limited to beauty and beauty alone, for the record.)
