Behold, The Herb Of Immortality

March 6, 2009  3:56 pm

Green Tea’s sovereignty as the reigning catchall for your beauty and wellness needs may be coming to an end. Regeneration USA announced today that it will add Anti-Aging Tea of Life to its line of organic products, finally bringing the power of Jiaogulan tea to mainstream attention. Called the “herb of immortality” in China, where a high number of centenarians (yes, that would be people living over 100 years old) have been found to drink spring water infused with the herb, it reportedly promotes cardiovascular health, healthy blood pressure, healthy digestion, strength, endurance, and immunity. And seeing as how Jiaogulan is part of a rare class of herbs called adaptogens, it is also known for its ability to build your body’s natural resistance to stress—which, if true, would seriously make us consider giving up coffee as our hot morning beverage of choice. (Mental tranquility trumps caffeine jitters any day of the week, as far as we’re concerned.)
