Kiehl’s Has Its Eyes On The Prize

Since making the return to mascara a few months back (R.I.P. lash extensions), I’ve been suffering from an affliction common to those of us who veer toward the slightly indolent end of the lazy continuum. Yes, sometimes even I forget to wash my mascara off before going to bed—which means frequently waking up with red, itchy eyes due to the synthetic ingredients common to most tubes of black magic. A slave to thick, voluminous lashes, I typically choose to endure the irritation rather than switch to a more natural alternative, but starting this week, the self-imposed pinkeye comes to an end: introducing Kiehl’s Since 1851 new Marvelous Mineral Mascara. The first mascara from a prestige cosmetics brand to use mineral pigments for color, it combines all-natural ingredients like Acacia senegal, a thickening agent, with conditioning jojoba oil and aloe vera. The result: a unique formula that gives lashes length, density, and a rich, glossy hue while being completely hypoallergenic, paraben- and fragrance-free, not to mention ophthalmologist approved. Now when making it to that bottle of makeup remover is simply not an option, your mornings will be free of the resulting guilt (and impaired vision).
