Redken’s New Motto: Watch And Learn

As anyone who has ever tried to replicate a salon-caliber blow-out knows, re-creating your stylist’s handiwork by your lonesome is somewhat…challenging. In response to this predicament, Redken has just launched “The Hair Files,” a bimonthly video series of easy, step-by-step guides for achieving your favorite styles in the comfort of your own home. First up is the “Healthy, Shiny Hair” installment, which discusses the importance of an in-salon consultation and segues into DIY directions for a bouncy, shiny blow-out with a silky-smooth finish (consider the disappointing days of that rough-edged, horsehair effect officially over). The most helpful part of the segment comes at the end, however, when the hair model incorporates all of the tips and tricks discussed in the episode and tries them herself, while a voiceover explains exactly what she’s doing.
