Seeing as how Spring’s soft-hued seasonal color palette smacks of country club wishes and golf course dreams, it’s no wonder that nail polish has taken a turn for the preppy. With the release of two new lacquer lines due out next month, you’ll be able to live out those divot-stomping, weekends-on-the-Vineyard fantasies yet. Essie’s North Fork collection, a tribute to shades of blue (and the blue bloods who love them), includes three different varnishes inspired by Long Island’s East End. Then there’s Orly’s aptly named Prepster collection, in which polishes with names like Polo Princess (a pink cream) and Cashmere Cardigan (an opaque iris) are enough to make you want to pour yourself a gin and tonic and slip into a pair of loafers. Go ahead and break out the khakis while you’re at it.
