A Quick Pick-Me-Up, Courtesy Of Chanel

We’ve really let ourselves go over the past few weeks. Nothing too horrifying; we’re still cleansing/moisturizing twice a day and showering regularly, etc. What we’re referring to is a manicure negligence that has left our in-between-square-and-round-shaped nails in a state of disrepair. Chipped gray polish and jagged tips have been our signature style as of late, which is personally disappointing, because we like to think of ourselves as nail connoisseurs above all else. But yesterday we kicked it into high gear. Laundry was done, hair was washed, and our fingers finally got the attention they deserve, with a little help from Chanel’s new Orange Fizz—and some good art direction. There was something about the new pink/coral summer lacquer—which happens to be inspired by Monte Carlo and Deauville (Mademoiselle Chanel’s favorite resort destinations)—that screamed “yes” when we consulted our polish stash. Whether it was its bright promise of warm weather to come or its resemblance to the comforting, familiar sight of Jewish grandmothers in Boca Raton is unclear. Regardless, the black-capped bottle made the trip to a new-to-us nail spot in Brooklyn, which had a bucket of nail-art bottles tucked away. (Every salon has them; you just have to ask.) Our aesthetician, Mimi, was a little hesitant to embrace her creativity, so we went for a more subdued design scheme than usual, but are pretty happy with the results (see above). Thoughts on the color—and our embellishments?

I am in love with that new spring shade from Chanel. <3 I will sure get myself one, as soon it comes to my drugstore.
