Chantecaille Ventures Into International Waters

As a “beauty that gives back” mentality becomes increasingly more popular with cosmetics companies looking to hook consumers with their dedication to quality products and altruism, Olivia Chantecaille is emerging in the vanguard. Utilizing the newest embossing techniques, she put out holiday compacts designed in homage to the endangered Bengal tiger that we were marginally obsessed with last December, dedicating 5 percent of all proceeds to the wildlife trade monitoring network Traffic. With the release of Chantecaille’s La Baleine collection this season, she appears to be on a similar bent, taking up the cause of protecting the high seas. Five percent of sales from two different compacts in the new range, which also includes a navy kohl eyeliner, three new lipstick shades, and a gloss, will go to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). (We’re currently contemplating whether to keep this eye palette as an art piece or to dare messing up the perfect etching of the blue whale and her calf with our shadow brush. That shade of shimmering gray is awfully tempting…)
