Elizabeth Arden Gets Groovy

April 29, 2009  5:34 pm

Elizabeth Arden has just released the second installment of its Eight Hour Cream Celebration of the Decades collection, and this sixties edition of its classic moisturizing salve screams “flower power.” With packaging inspired by the colors and typography of the era, each application of the all-in-one lip hydrator, face gloss, cheek tint, and cuticle cream is designed to conjure iconic images of Jackie Kennedy, Julie Christie, Twiggy, and women’s lib. After all, is there anything more liberating than replacing a multistep makeup regimen with one can’t-live-without-it product? The 1970’s are up next, and our bet’s on a disco theme. The punk movement just doesn’t seem like it would jibe well with the brand’s image (a Sex Pistols tribute would be an epic move, though)!
