Star Trek’s Next Generation

Since the dawn of time, the freaks and geeks who’ve dedicated themselves to the original Star Trek television series and its equally popular spin-offs have retained a certain, um, stigma. But a new cast of attractive unknowns and an amped-up plot line about the early days of James T. Kirk might make a Starship Enterprise groupie of you yet. Zoe Saldana ranks among our favorite new crew members, especially after we spied her sporting a rosy cheek, liquid black liner, and extra glossy hair at a photo call for the Paris premiere of the popular space odyssey’s latest incarnation (we’re gonna overlook that small sweat stain and chock it up to “the heat of the flashbulbs”). Otherworldly, to be sure—and possibly enough to make us reevaluate the implications of the term “Trekkie.” You?
