Small-batch production and homespun ingredients can get you pretty far in today’s green-leaning beauty climate, but adding efficacy and ingenuity to the formula almost guarantees success. Enter Beekman 1802, whose line of goat’s milk soaps are designed to do way more than keep you clean. The brainchild of Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Dr. Brent Ridge, a former Martha Stewart staffer, the duo use milk harvested from goats on their farm in upstate New York in their line of all-natural soaps, which includes two summertime offerings meant to address season-specific concerns. The Bug Repellent Bar uses citronella and eucalyptus to keep pests at bay while the After the Sun Bar is made with a delicious-smelling cocktail of green tea, lavender, and aloe vera to wash off sunscreen residue and reduce inflammation from free radicals. They’re perfect for a morning shower and can also be rubbed onto pulse points for continued use throughout the day. The best part? Both are conveniently sliced into little one-use pats, which makes for easy beach bag toting.
