Redken has just launched its 10,000 Blondes Facebook application in an attempt to lure the flaxen-haired into some good old-fashioned social networking. Blondes are invited to upload their photos, identify their blonde celebrity inspirations, and enter to win a free Redken sample from the Blonde Glam haircare collection, all while learning about products formulated specifically for their golden-hued hair type. (Inviting other blonde friends to join them in creating all-blonde photo montages is also encouraged.) We did a quick Facebook search to see if there were similar pages created for brunettes and redheads but the results were few and far between—and more often than not bordering on X-rated. (Do yourself a favor and take our word for it.) Our brown-haired blogging compatriot over at Allure did a bit of gonzo journalism though, and discovered that there were in fact women of “her kind” in the virtual room as well.
