Bright Ideas That Last (And Last)
July 1, 2009 2:27 pm

As the weather (hopefully) gets warmer, an overwhelming desire to wear brighter clothes and brighter makeup will likely take over. But a word to the wise to those of you who are planning on experimenting with electric aqua eyeliners and colored mascaras: Go waterproof. When you finally get the shape of that Day-Glo, turquoise cat-eye just right, the last thing you need is for it to slowly melt down your cheek as the day progresses. Shu Uemura has just launched a new line of long-wearing Painting Gel Liners that are highly pigmented and completely resistant to excess oil, sweat, and even tears, should you happen upon a group screening of Beaches in the near future. A creamy, glide-on texture allows time for blending before the formula sets, but it’s the range’s vibrant color options that we find most exciting. Green, Vivid Blue, and Purple seem like good bets for July, when gray skies are supposed to clear up and, yes, you can put on a happy face.

Great post! I read about these a few weeks ago and fell in love, but I still haven’t tried them. This really is the perfect summer makeup. Thanks for the reminder!
