Stretch It Out For Charity

July 21, 2009  10:39 am

Pilates’ message of wellness and strength for beauty inside and out comes to Central Park tomorrow when Alycea Ungaro, famed body guru and founder of New York’s Real Pilates Studio, sets up shop at the park’s 72nd Street entrance on Fifth Avenue. The occasion is intended to raise money for the nonprofit organization Safe Horizon, the nation’s leading provider of services for victims of violence, so while Ungaro’s outdoor tutelage is free, there is a $25 suggested donation. Show up with your own mat in hand around 5:30, walk approximately 200 feet west into the park, and hope that those thunderstorms they’re predicting don’t come to pass. For more information, call (212) 625-0777.
