The Return Of The Button Hair Hat

Seeing as how we like to stay in the know as to what’s going on in the international world of beauty and fashion, we stumbled across some images from the Miss Universe Japan 2009 National Costume Press Preview in Tokyo yesterday. Why pageant winner Emiri Miyasaka is holding that goblin mask in her hand remains unclear, although it’s what’s going on due north of said ghoulish accessory that really caught our eye—i.e., her hair-covered button hat. Somewhat similar to the one Lady Gaga debuted last month in Manchester, it leads us to believe that the pop phenom’s influence has reached beyond the Paris Couture shows to inspire a whole generation of would-be pants-shunners in the Far East. Button hair hats for fall, anyone?
