Purple Reign

August 31, 2009  2:05 pm

Purple is the new black. That’s what Giorgio Armani Beauty’s celebrity makeup artist Tim Quinn took away from the designer’s show last February, where an aubergine smoky eye was paired with an intense red lip. And it’s also the thinking behind the brand’s new Eyes to Kill eye shadow palette, the Gun Metal Grey version of which features a royal violet and light and dark gray pigments for accenting. Purple, he says, “is just as intense as black, but in a more subtle and daring way.” According to the chakra energy principles, it’s also the color of spirituality, so those of you seeking spiritual fulfillment and an on-trend look are in luck.
