Estée Lauder Thinks Pink
September 30, 2009 5:24 pm

If you happened to be flying over JFK yesterday, you may have noticed something a little different about it from the friendly skies. To kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, the airport was lit pink, following in the footsteps of China’s Water Cube (pictured above), which went pink on September 15. JFK and One Franklin Square in Washington, D.C., were the first U.S. monuments to be a part of the Estée Lauder Companies’ Global Landmarks Illumination Initiative this year, which, along with its Pink Ribbon campaign, is intended to spread awareness of the disease all over the globe. A vast array of product steals and deals from the corporation’s different brands will follow beginning tomorrow (stay tuned for more posts about what to get and where to find it), as well a number of other outdoor visual spectacles to generate consciousness and funds to help find a cure. Tomorrow, at 6:30 p.m., the movement comes to New York City, when the Time Warner Center and the Columbus Circle Fountain see the light. Click here for more information.
