Makeup Bag Check: Blake Lively
September 21, 2009 2:00 pm

The Mission: Make Blake Lively the most red-carpet-ready Gossip Girl in attendance at the 2009 Emmy Awards.
The Glam Squad: Celebrity makeup artist Kristofer Buckle for Dior Beauty and hairstylist Renato Campora for Frédéric Fekkai.
The Face: Buckle relied on a lot of warm honey colors to make Lively’s green eyes “pop,” including DiorBronze Original Tan in Amber Tan #03, Dior Serum de Rouge Lipstick as a base with Dior Addict Lip Polish in Radiance Expert on top, and Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow in Beige Messai #705. To get that ethereal, otherworldly glow on her cheekbones and shoulders, Buckle actually used Dior Eye Show in Undressed Beige. “It’s technically an eye shadow,” he says, “but it works basically anywhere you want to reflect the light!” Noted.
The Hair: Going for a “goddess-style updo” inspired by Lively’s red Versace gown, Campora prepped her hair with Fekkai Coiff Strong Hold Volume Mousse, then blew it dry, adding a touch of styling gel to keep it smooth. Then he teased all the hair and pulled it up into a high ponytail, added some extensions for drama, and braided the entire length for maximum over-the-shoulder-swinging-and-posing potential.
The Result: A capital W in the Lively vs. Meester Emmy showdown.

By leticia111 on 09/21/09 at 4:25 pmI think this was the best look at the Emmys, she looked fresh and young next to Leighton Meester who looked too old for her age, even though her dress was stunning.
By MarBueno on 09/29/09 at 3:27 pmI loved her look, she looked way better than Leighton, young, tanned and fresh.
