Michael Kors Brings Hollywood To New York For FNO

September 9, 2009  5:10 pm

Michael Kors called his new Very Hollywood fragrance the “most glamorous, indulgent scent we’ve ever done” in a recent WWD interview, and as it hits shelves this month, we’re beginning to see why. The designer has apparently pulled out all the stops for the opulent white-floral scent, which is intended to evoke the diamonds and flashbulbs that come standard with celebrity status. To wit, the perfume’s flacon was fashioned to resemble old-fashioned camera lights, and its campaign follows Kors’ favorite model duo, Carmen Kass and Noah Mills, as they walk the red carpet to a Lady Gaga backtrack. And there’s more! In addition to your standard eau de parfum spray, the collection features a gilded ballpoint pen with scented ink and a pink-jeweled cocktail ring that houses a solid perfume, so you can take the wet jasmine, ylang-ylang, gardenia, and creamy amber notes with you wherever you go. To celebrate Fashion’s Night Out—and his grand olfactory achievement—Kors will simulate the paparazzi frenzy from his print ads at Macy’s in Herald Square tomorrow night at 7 p.m., where he and actress Debra Messing will be posing for photos with fans. It’ll be life imitating art imitating life. Yet another reason to get out and shop!
