To promote its new Film Noir Fall Collection, Sephora just premiered a Hitchcock-style black-and-white short on YouTube. Cherchez La Femme (click above to watch) follows a detective on his quest to solve “a beauty crime of a particularly heinous nature,” i.e. the theft of Sephora’s entire fall makeup collection. To celebrate Britney Spears’ return to North America, Elizabeth Arden will launch Circus this month, a sugarcoated raspberry and apricot scent named after, inspired by, and entirely aligned with her number-one selling album and blowout tour. With its cast of nearly 50 dancers, magicians, clowns, and acrobats and a traveling staff of over 200, the $50 million extravaganza certainly warrants its own fragrance, in our opinion. If you’ve been Botoxing your way to a migraine-free existence, you might be eligible for a headache cure by way of plastic surgery. Forehead lifts are emerging as a new way to rid yourself of the persistent temple pain and nausea that plagues nearly 30 million Americans. The perfectly smoothed-out brow ridge is just a happy aftereffect. [NYT]
