Dita And Evan Do Pale Perfection

It’s hard not to pit Dita Von Teese and Evan Rachel Wood against one another. Both have dated reigning Prince of Darkness Marilyn Manson and both have adopted a goth burlesque aesthetic that demands an extremely ivory complexion, dark eyes, and a deep pout. It’s even harder not to make comparisons when they both show up at the same event in variations on this look, that being the Fashion Group International’s 26th annual Night of Stars last night in New York. Do you prefer Dita’s classic interpretation or Evan’s addition of slight cheek contouring and a soft mauve smoky eye? And furthermore, who wins the alabaster skin-off?

  2. The word is ‘jail tan’, right?

    The color comes naturally, the foundation for it? Not so much. Most lines choose to make their lightest shade tilt to pink instead of the ivory I need. At least the pinks can be a useful subtlest blush. I am hereby filing the complaint! ;)

    Rachel’s look is easier to pull away from vaulted ceilings or red carpets.

  3. Both are beautiful women. But I am personally drawn Evan’s way of dressing. It’s colorful and it’s different from the typical Goth aesthetic. Plus, I adore that red dress.
