François Nars Hearts New York

François Nars has a lot to celebrate this year. In addition to painting faces at not one but two Marc Jacobs shows, his eponymous brand turned 15, marking nearly two decades of cleverly named, high-performance makeup. To commemorate the occasion, he has planned a public appearance in the city that never sleeps, where his career took off in the eighties. Tomorrow, from 1:30 to 3 p.m., Nars will be signing copies of his books X-Ray and Makeup Your Mind as well as showcasing his fall collection at Saks Fifth Avenue. He’ll also debut a limited-edition NARS Loves New York set, which includes products chosen by the makeup maestro with New York women specifically in mind. It comprises the Uptown Girl eye shadow duo (a yellow-green sparkly shade and a smoky charcoal gray), a matte plum brown single eye shadow called New York, and Nars’ cult-classic Orgasm blush, a sheer warm pink with a gold shimmer. Not to forget the nail lovers out there (ahem), a black grape lacquer called Soho also comes in the monogrammed bag. If you’re a beauty junkie living in the Big Apple, this one’s for you.
