Sitting front-row at Gareth Pugh definitely necessitates a dark-and-stormy statement look of some kind, and Rihanna delivered, showing off her new blond highlights with a deep purple lip. Ironically, we tried on that very pout yesterday while playing with a few items from MAC’s newest collections in the privacy of our own home. (Sometimes, it comes to that.) First, apply a layer of Faultlessly, a blackened blue-violet lipstick from the brand’s Trend F/W 09 range, and top that off with Blackware, a sheer black Glimmerglass from its Style Black line that creates a subtle, obsidian texture when layered with more opaque color offerings. Perhaps not shockingly, it looked better on RiRi. Thoughts on the entire package?

Rihanna is one of the few artists that gets every point of her look down from dress shoes makeup and even hair. The blonde hair keeps her overall goth/gloomy look from looking to done. The Sheer Deep purple lip define the lip without making it to harsh and the Black GREY ANT STATUS SHADES prevent an over or under done eye from detracting from the overall look. When all else fails I slip into my Status Shades.
