Wine, What Can’t It Do?

January 12, 2010  2:50 pm

Recycling the natural byproducts of the wine-making process and repurposing them in skincare lines isn’t necessarily new. Companies like Caudalie have based their entire operations on the potency of grape seed polyphenols, which are rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids that promote a healthy complexion. Now Seed, an aptly named fledgling brand started by a husband-and-wife duo, is getting in on the act, releasing a new hair and body care range that cleanses, quenches, and revives using the power of nature. The difference? Seed is much more barebones than Caudalie, which we like. So much so, in fact, that its standout product is a Conditioning Hair Shampoo Bar—yes, we said shampoo bar. Who should try it: oenophiles of all persuasions, but especially ladies with short hair and anti-frills masculine types.
