A Pearl Of A Girl

Fashion week is officially upon us, and last night’s amfAR New York gala to kick off the Fall season brought the style set out in full force, despite the horizontal-blowing snow that persisted through most of the evening. MAC Cosmetics co-sponsored this year’s fête in honor of its new MAC Viva Glam campaign, which meant its spokeswomen, Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper, were on hand for performances and merrymaking. Never one to shy away from taking it to the next level, Gaga wore full-body white powder, her new pink Viva Glam lipstick, and a face full of individual pearls glued to her skin presumably in homage to the winter wonderland that has transformed Manhattan over the last 24 hours. Let it be known: Pearls are the new sparkly eye patches. What do you think of her face jewelry?

  1. Love the look, save for the face pearls. They are so matte, and so similar in color to her her skin that it reads in the photo more like a disorder - tiny blisters or skin tags or wart-like protrusions. more textural than I think looks pretty…
