Bond No. 9 Looks To the Right Side Of The Tracks

Despite the barrage of wet snow that’s been falling on New York City all day, warmer weather is on the way (remember last weekend’s balmy 40-degree temps)? To get you properly excited for the wonder that is Manhattan in the springtime, Bond No. 9—purveyor of neighborhood fragrances that do the Big Apple proud—has set out to capture one of the city’s newest destinations (and a great place to stop and literally smell the roses). Next week, it will introduce High Line, an homage to the elevated rail line cum aerial park that opened in the Meatpacking District last year. The unisex floral-marine eau is intended to convey a message of wildflowers-meet-industrial grit, “with bits of Tenth Avenue energy and Chelsea gallery style added to the mix,” according to the company. The scent is rooted in notes of purple lovegrass, red-leaf rose, Lady Jane tulips, and grape hyacinth, plus a touch of sea moss—we guess to hammer home that Hudson River smell. The bottle itself is enough to get you out of your winter mind-set; with tall green grasses and pink tulip buds silk-screened onto the flacon, it’s a visual reminder that good things are yet to come—sooner rather than later, we hope.
