NYFW Backstage Beauty Alert: Estée Lauder Gets In The Game

We knew this was coming when Estée Lauder announced that it had signed backstage beauty behemoth Tom Pecheux as its new creative makeup director back in November. But the details as to when, where, and for whom the beauty giant would make its fashion week debut remained unclear until this morning, when we received word that—wait for it—Derek Lam would be the beneficiary of the epic premiere. Believe it or not, the company has never dabbled in runway shows, so Pecheux’s all-Lauder-all-the-time endeavor on the 16th at Capitale’s grand ballroom represents something of a milestone for the brand. To make sure Lam’s models are covered from head to toe, Lauder has also enlisted the mani/pedi services of one Jin Soon Choi, nail guru to the stars. Yeah, we’ll be there.
