Silent Killers In Your Makeup Bag; Beer For Your Tresses; And More…


Dr. Oz devoted a segment of his popular afternoon talk show yesterday to alerting the housewife set about “the top three things in your makeup bag that can be hazardous to your health.” These included mineral powders with particles small enough to be inhaled into your lungs, wrinkle creams that can do more harm than good, and petroleum-rich lip glosses that are being linked to cancer. It wasn’t all bad news, though; he also suggested some healthy alternatives to these “killers,” so as not to be a complete downer at 3 p.m. [Daily Health Web]

Finally, someone has shed some light on the efficacy of homespun hair remedies. Beer, mayonnaise, and bananas may soon replace standard bottles of shampoo and conditioner in the shower. [Daily Mail]
