Marc Jacobs Makes A Post-Fashion Week Splash
The Paris shows may be over, but thanks to Marc Jacobs, members of the fashion tribe leaving the City of Light can keep those memories of Ladurée macarons and other patisserie delights fresh in their minds. Jacobs has just released the latest edition of his much-loved Splash Collection, the seasonally updated series of oversized rectangular glass flacons that are favorites with fragrance fiends, ourselves included (2006′s inaugural run with Rain, Cotton, and Grass remains a personal favorite). The newest trio was inspired by Paris’ sweet treats and includes pale pink, green, and peach eaux that go on light and are reminiscent of bite-sized delectables. Pomegranate is fused with hints of mandarin, lemon chiffon, rhubarb, and violet; Apple gives you a combination of sweet and tart with complementary notes of grapefruit, rosemary, jasmine, and magnolia; and Biscotti, the gourmand of the three, uses essences of freesia, pistachio blossom, and vanilla to provide a wearable cookie effect. Douse liberally.
