Hanae Mori Plays Captain Planet

April 9, 2010  5:31 pm

To make sure you’ve gotten your green fix for the week, we have one more eco-minded product launch to share with you in honor of Earth Month. Hanae Mori, the fragrance brand named for the first female fashion designer from Japan to make a name for herself on the runways of Paris and New York, has just introduced No. 1. The premiere offering from its new Eaux de Collection series, the limited-edition fruity-floral can thank mother nature for both its ingredients and its actual production. Just as the sun ripened the perfume’s grapefruit, blackberry, and raspberry notes; and breezes carried the aroma of its jasmine petals through the air; solar energy and wind turbines provided 30 percent of the power used to craft the scent itself. To pack a little more environmental punch into the purple-tinged glass bottle, Hanae Mori has also pledged to donate a portion of the proceeds from U.S. sales of No. 1 to Clean Air/Cool Planet, which works to solve global warming through civic engagement, education, and policy. (PS: It smells good, too!)
