Sneak Peek: Byredo La Tulipe
Despite the warm evening breezes that swept over New York last night, we couldn’t help but wish we were in London, where Byredo founder Ben Gorham christened a special pop-up shop to house his latest olfactory creation, La Tulipe. You might be curious how Gorham worked this one out considering tulips don’t offer the most fragrant bouquet. According to a press release, he was interested in capturing the flower’s “shy characteristic” and combined that with essences of other flowers. That means you’ll predominantly smell the scent’s sweet freesia top notes and light, woody dry-down with a slight twang of rhubarb thrown in for good measure. Our British beauty counterparts should make haste to St. Martins Lane, where the fragrance will be popping up for another six weeks; as for the rest of you, look out for it at Barneys in June.
